VMware has announced it is adding a Cloud Native Master Services Competency (MSC) to its Partner Connect program. According to the company, this is the first competency related to VMware Tanzu.

The new MSC will provide the foundation for partners to create Kubernetes-based platforms that are supported by complementary technologies from the cloud native ecosystem.

“VMware’s new Cloud Native MSC is designed to help partners expand their services capabilities and opportunities and recognize them for their Kubernetes and platform operations expertise,” said Teri Bruns, vice president of Tanzu Ecosystem Partners at VMware. “This competency will help VMware partners embrace the industry shift to Kubernetes and modern applications and enable partners to build new revenue streams as container usage skyrockets.”

Device42 acquires ArrayIQ
This acquisition will expand Device42’s storage discovery and visibility capabilities. Device42 will now be better able to provide customers with a comprehensive view of IT storage usage and spend.

“We’re thrilled to welcome ArrayIQ to the Device42 family. Our customers are dealing with an explosion of data from big data activities across the data center and cloud. Visibility into storage and storage usage represents a significant pain-point, with storage being a huge spend area for IT while customers have little visibility into how that storage is deployed or used. The addition of ArrayIQ to Device42 extends our vision of providing end-to-end visibility into exponentially growing hybrid IT infrastructure for our customers,” said Device42 CEO and co-founder Raj Jalan.

Wipro to launch 5G edge services solutions suite
The suite will enhance Wipro’s edge portfolio, BoundaryLess Enterprise, which enables communication service providers to deploy applications to dispersed edge devices. The new suite will provide customers with better data control, reduced costs, faster insights and actions, and more automated, secured operations, the company explained.

Wipro also announced that it will join the IBM Edge Ecosystem, which is an initiative that helps parts implement open standards-based cloud native solutions that can be used to deploy and manage edge applications at scale.
