Tigera has announced it will be offering a free tier of Calico Cloud, its solution that provides network security and observability for Kubernetes. The free tier provides Calico Open Source users with access to advanced features for observability, policy management, microsegmentation, and network security.

By offering key features such as enhanced visualization to view network flow logs, enforced and staged policies and policy recommendations at no cost, Calico Cloud Free Tier empowers teams to enhance cluster operations without added complexity or expense.”
Calico Cloud Free Tier includes the Calico Dynamic Service Graph, which provides traffic monitoring, workload communication visualization, logging, and rapid troubleshooting.
It also enables microsegmentation via the Policy Board that allows users to view enforced policies, create staged policies to preview traffic flows, and set up policy tiers to define policy enforcement hierarchy.
Additionally, Calico Dashboards enable users to conduct cluster health monitoring.
In addition to the free tier, Tigera also announced the addition of two new features in Calico Cloud: support for WireGuard encryption for data-in-transit between services in different clusters, and enhanced support for policy testing.
