Veeam Software is now simplifying the process for customers to safeguard Microsoft 365 through Cirrus by Veeam, which is a Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering. It aims to provide Microsoft customers with effective data protection and ransomware recovery capabilities.

This solution, building on Veeam’s track record of protecting almost 18 million Microsoft 365 users, includes support for Microsoft 365 Backup Storage.

According to Veeam, this widespread adoption underscores the shared responsibility of customers to own and protect critical Microsoft 365 data, covering services like Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.

“Businesses today need the confidence that their critical business data is protected,” said Danny Allan, chief technology officer at Veeam. “We’re delighted to extend the advanced capabilities we use to protect close to 18 million Microsoft 365 users by integrating with Microsoft 365 Backup Storage. The recent addition of our BaaS offering for Microsoft 365 underlines our commitment to continuing to deliver new features and capabilities that take advantage of the power and reliability of the Veeam Data Platform which keeps businesses running.”

Customers now have multiple options for utilizing Veeam and managing Microsoft 365 data. Cirrus by Veeam is a newly introduced option that offers a straightforward, seamless SaaS experience. Other options include Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 or using a backup service from any Veeam Cloud & Service Provider partner.
